The ROV-Team of HYDRA provides underwater inspections and investigations for the marine industry, science, and television using a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV).
Remotely controlled vehicles are becoming increasingly more reliable, powerful and important in all sciences and industries involved in marine activities. The cost versus reliability / performance is also improving. Tasks which were traditionally performed by divers, today are often performed with ROV's. Moreover ROV’s allow working in depths which are unreachable to divers.



	Our ROV 'Nr. 5' is especially designed for inspection and scientific purposes. It is faster and lighter than many other systems. A slim contour line and powerful thrusters make it capable of working in strong currents. The low weight of the system allows the 'FO' to be launched from small boats or narrow platforms. Our ROV has been equipped with a high resolution 3 CDD digital video camera for special tasks in science and television.



		With this system we are the first ROV-provider who is able to produce video material in broadcast quality for a reasonable price. In addition we are able to take samples with an electric manipulator which is equipped with its own close up finger camera. The ROV allows working at depths up to 300 meters (900 ft) 24 hours a day.
